A State of Dance
The 'A State Of Dance' initiative is a focused program of free workshops, performances, and lectures dedicated to disability and inclusion, hosted by the Departments of Early Childhood Education at the Universities of Thessaly and Crete. The action is designed as an experiential inclusive educational process that directly addresses the exclusion and discrimination faced by people with disabilities. By collaborating with students, academics, and educators across both Undergraduate and Postgraduate Study Programs, the program offers a unique opportunity for the new generation on the fundamental principles of inclusion through the transformative art of dance.
The kick-off workshop ον 24.10.2025 was initiated with an amazing sharing of Ann Cooper Albright's methodology, featuring an inclusive dance workshop led by Albright herself—a renowned dance scholar, choreographer, Professor and Chair of the Dance Department at Oberlin College in the USA, and author of books including 'Choreographing Difference: The Body and Identity in Contemporary Dance'.
Action implemented with the support John S. Latsis Public Benefit Foundation in the framework of "Points of Support", a co-funded programme by 10 public benefit foundations.
